I heard a quote back then that fits narcissists very well: "I am the force that always seeks good but always creates evil." The problem is always that the lack of empathy is not really visible to the narcissist. If he doesn't have anyone to show him that his behavior is "wrong," then he won't be able to recognize the behavior and will be amazed at why everyone is offended. But even if you tell them, they can't see why it's wrong. It's more like "repeating" words, but the narcissist doesn't always understand his behavior and the effects of it.

Talk therapy is redundant especially for a narcissist, it just creates more grandiosity, narcissism and false accountability

Not being able to out love the trauma is probably the most difficult thing for me personally, just knowing how miserable and in pain and scared they are and how weak they are vs vulnerable, just knowing that they're not developed enough to handle their misery to the point that they neglect, reject, abuse, lie manipulate etc it's so sad, my love and my capacity to fully see a person and still love them even after abuse is sometimes scarier than the person I'm choosing to love itself. It's a choice

Everybody talks about it all the time. A lot of people say that narcissism has to do with trauma and insecurity and selfish people can be sensitive. In contrast, a psychopath is just cold and doing it on purpose.

Sometimes, they don't care about the impact. Everything revolves around them. I mean, I'm glad you cleared up some myths. A narc is someone who does what they can to protect their ego & most times, everything else is collateral damage. At least you're self-aware and getting help to treat people better. There are others who are self-aware and don't care that they hurt others.

I understand from your viewpoint how you can see damage as unintentional, however, admitting that you understand that your choices do hurt people (like lying and cheating) and still choosing to do it anyway is still intentionally hurting other people. Simply not caring how it affects people doesn’t now make it unintentional. With that said, I do agree that from my own experience that a narcissist does not care about the collateral damage or how many bodies their actions and words leave in their wake because what they want will always take priority.

As much as I admire Lee and how he has learned to help himself to heal (somewhat) from his NPD I would rather take the advice from people who have recovered or are in the process of recovery. Like the doctors (Frank Gerow and Thomas Cronin) who invented breast implants and ended up being able to make more by removing them, one shouldn't profit off of the pain they inflicted. At the end of the day a self-aware narcissist is a sniper without ammunition.

Most narcissists will lie even if forced into therapy. They know their actions are crazy, but they won't, even in therapy admit it, they'll try to manipulate the therapist.

Unanimously, by all doctors who are experts in spider bites and entomologists, the absolutely deadliest and most dangerous spider on the planet is the "six-eyed sand spider" The Sicarius Hanhi: there is NO antidote! Its venom literally dissolves the main blood transport and filtering organs, causing massive and very serious hemorrhages with absolutely irreversible damage. From a bite from any other spider, even the most poisonous, if you are treated in time or if you have the antidote at hand, you can get away with it and recover without problems; from a Sicarius bite one emerges either dead or seriously impaired. Fortunately it is a spider that lives only in the sands of the Kalahari and in very few other deserts, it is not aggressive and is actually a very calm spider and its bite is even very little painful but it is by far the deadliest on the planet!

As an empath in one of these relationships, i always look at it like the narc needs to take and control in order to feel the safety they never had growing up, and the empath gives in order to feel that same safety. Which I think is also a manipulation on our parts because it breaks down when the narc cuts off the supply of breadcrumbs we need. Fuck all of our parents am I right?
